CSTEP, the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program, is a New York State Department of Education initiative designed to provide services to students from under represented populations or economically disadvantaged backgrounds who are seeking careers in the science, mathematics, and technological fields and the licensed professions.
The program features strong individualized student contact and support, and includes academic monitoring. CSTEP's goal is to produce and retain competent, well-rounded, and developed scholars in science, technology, and pre-licensure fields through personalized and intensive experiences.
Our Mission
Our mission is to produce and retain competent well rounded students who are highly marketable for career
placement and/or continued education in science, technology, and pre-licensure fields. Placing students at
the center of the program, CSTEP serves as a "home away from home" for participating students as they pursue
their academic goals.
