My area of research is elementary particle theory. The main goals of particle physics is to understand the fundamental building blocks of matter and energy as well as the fundamental laws that dictate their behavior. Over the past 40 years physicists have been able to piece together what we know into what is called the Standard Model. The standard model has proven to be an incredibly accurate description of our Universe. However, it doesn't tell us everything, and there essentially has to be something beyond the standard model, something more "fundamental". My research focuses on physics beyond the standard model. In particular, I am interested in the consequences that modifying spacetime itself would have on the standard model. For example, in recent years physicists have discovered new motivations for investigating the possibility that our Universe contains extra unseen dimensions. This is one modification of spacetime I am particularly interested in. Here is a more thorough of my interests:
