Your Connection

This account utilizes your FredoniaID (FID) for access. Your FID begins with the letter F followed by an 8-character randomly generated code. To determine your FID, logon to Your Connection using your full Social Security Number (SSN) as the userid and Date of Birth (DOB) in MMDDYY format for the PIN. You will be prompted to change your PIN during your first login session. PINs are required to be 6 characters in length containing upper and lower case letters, numbers and limited special characters. (Valid special characters are listed below).

Click on the Personal Information link and then the View Your UserIDs and Passwords link. Locate your FredoniaID username and initial password in the table that is displayed (Please note the date information above each table to determine which is applicable to you.).

It is recommended that you utilize the FredoniaID in place of your Social Security Number for future logons to Your Connection. (Note – the PIN displayed will be your initial PIN, not what you have reset it to.)

To change the Your Connection PIN

  1. Logon to Your Connection
  2. Click on the Personal Information link
  3. Click on the Change Your PIN link
  4. Enter your existing PIN in the Old PIN box
  5. Enter your new PIN in the New PIN box
  6. Enter your new PIN again in the Re-enter New PIN box
  7. Click on the Change PIN button

STUDENTS: Your Connection permits access for user-specific information such as viewing usernames and passwords for your other electronic accounts, viewing and accepting financial aid, class registration and viewing grades.

FACULTY & STAFF: Your Connection permits access for user-specific information such as viewing usernames and passwords for your other electronic accounts. Faculty may also view course rosters, send email messages to an entire class, post grades, view a list of their advisees and email them as well.

 

Network Logon

This account utilizes the Network Logon username and randomly generated password as the initial password. To find your Network Logon username and password, logon to Your Connection, click on the Personal Information link and then the View Your UserIDs and Passwords link. Locate your Network Logon username and initial password in the table that is displayed (Please note the date information above each table to determine which is applicable to you.).

Student Network Logon username generally consists of 2-4 letters of your last name followed by 4 numbers.

Faculty and Staff Logon username generally consists of 2-8 letters of your last name and/or possibly first or middle initials.Passwords for all Network Logon accounts follow the University’s guidelines utilizing upper and lower case letters, numbers and limited special characters. (Valid special characters are listed below).

The initial password is the one that will be displayed, and is what the password will be reset to if you forget it.

To change your Network Logon password

  1. Logon to a Windows 2000 or Windows XP computer
  2. Press CTRL-ALT-DELETE simultaneously
  3. Click on the Change Password button
  4. The User Name and Log on to fields will fill in automatically with your information. Complete the following fields:
    Old Password: enter your existing password
    New Password: enter your new password
    Confirm New Password: enter your new password again
    **NOTE: you will not see the password that you enter on the screen, asterisks will be displayed in its place.
    When changing the password the following is required:
    **Use a minimum of 7 characters
    **Use a mixture of 3 of the following: upper and lower case letters, numbers and limited special characters
  5. Click on the OK button
Note: although several of SUNY Fredonia’s electronic access accounts utilize the same format for username and password – changing one account password will not change the others.
