Lectures & Presentations

All are welcome to a presentation by students on their Summer Research 2013.

Presenters are: John Hasper, a senior majoring in Molecular Genetics, and Jacob Merle, a graduate student in Biology, who worked on campus with Dr. Scott Ferguson on his project, Genetic Analysis of Gurken Translational Control in Drosophila. Their research was supported by a $250,000 National Science Foundation grant awarded to Ferguson.

Also, students who competed and won NSF funding from other undergraduate institutions will discuss their work at those campuses last summer: Danielle Hindes, senior, Molecular Genetics (Cornell University); Cory Jackson, senior, Biology (University of Rochester); Nancy Levensailor, senior, Molecular Genetics (University of Chicago); Maya Mills, junior, Molecular Genetics (University of Minnesota); Melissa Shively, senior, Biochemistry (SUNY at Buffalo); and Maxwell DeNies, senior, Molecular Biology (Amgen Scholar Program at the University of California-San Francisco).
