The Folk Song Festival aims to explore multiculturalism, promote cultural awareness, and celebrate diversity through folk music. The event will open with a welcome address by Mary Sasso, director of the International Education Center, followed by featured performances by Master Chung's World Class Tae Kwon Do, the SUNY Fredonia Latin Jazz Ensemble with guest percussionist Wendell Rivera from Buffalo, the Zion Choir from the First United Presbyterian Church of Dunkirk and Fredonia service learning students. The choir will sing an international selection of folk songs such as "Arirang," "Sakura," "Amen," and "Go Tell It!" also in collaboration with the Latin Jazz Ensemble. The evening will end with a light reception with international students from various countries in their traditional dress. This event is sponsored by the Convocation Committee, the SUNY Fredonia School of Music, and the International Education Center.
