Keiko Abe Marimba Academy Opening Concert

Kick-off concert for the Keiko Abe Marimba Academy with international marimba virtuoso and composer, Keiko Abe. The Monday concert will feature Keiko Abe and her students from the Toho University in Tokyo, Japan, performing a special arrangement of Abe-sensei's work, "The Wave Impressions II," and "Marimba Spiritual," by Minoru Miki. This concert will also include performances of traditional marimba musics of Ghana, Guinea, and Mexico, showing some of the roots of the modern day marimba. Tickets: $10 ($8 students with ID).
