Following the success of The Barber of Seville, Gioacchino Rossini turned to a classic fairy tale for  the inspiration for his next work: La Cenerentola (Cinderella). It features what many critics consider to be his "finest writing for solo voice and ensembles." Working with collaborator Luca Agolini,  Rossini completed the work in only three weeks. His vibrant music brings the Cinderella fairy tale to life. The Hillman Opera presents the concert version of this classic work.

This stage concert opera will feature an all student cast as well as the all student Fredonia Opera Orchestra. Professor Julie Newell is Producer of the Hillman Opera, Dr. David Rudge is the Music Director, and Professor Paul Mockovak of the Dept. of Theatre and Dance is the Stage Director. Featured students include seniors Amanda Bottoms, Lorenzo Parnell, Makoto Winkler, Cody Ray Caho, Aubrey Warner, Allison Deady, and Sophomore and Silver Creek native Michael Hawk.

Tickets: $18
