Family FUNKtion and the Sitar Jams is a world jam trio of sitar, bass and drums. The group is formed by brothers Ravi, Aneal, and Naryan Padmanabha from Buffalo, New York. The Padmanabha brothers draw from their rich ethnic backgrounds (India & Ireland) to compose original music that combines traditional Eastern modes and rhythms in a modern day, complex and dynamic sound. Their multi-genre sound has been refined over their  20 years together and their long history of performing together allows for much improvisation and exploration in their shows. Their performance will feature original compositions, ethnic instruments from India, and a collaborative improvisation, all of which combine to create an exciting global jam sound. Presented by the Fredonia Percussion Guild and the Student Association. Free.
