Suggestions for Writing Successful Grant Proposals: From Conceptualization to Submission – Starting with the Basics

Presented by Kathleen Lynne Lane, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

On November 3 and November 17, CEC and the CEC-Division for Research (DR) are co-hosting webinars on grant-writing for federal research competitions. These webinars will be hosted on the SUNY Fredonia campus courtesy of the Office of Sponsored Programs and Dr. Barbara Mallette, CEC member and Professor Emerita of Language, Learning & Leadership.

These webinars will assist faculty in securing funding to support their research. In this two-part series, you will learn strategies and techniques from researchers who have been successful in winning research grants in federal competitions.  The presentations will be interactive, with opportunities for participants to query the presenters and receive feedback on their concerns.

In this webinar, Dr Lane will discuss essential tasks to complete prior to writing a grant, during the grant-writing process, and after submitting the proposal. The focus will be on the collaborative nature of grant writing, beginning with defined research questions tied to a clearly defined research agenda. Participants will engage in an interactive discussion as part of the webinar.
