Chapter History

The Delta Lambda Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota was chartered at the State University of New York College at Fredonia on May 24, 1964 with nineteen members in the original petitioning group. The original members included:



Currently, the Delta Lambda chapter has 19 active sisters, three who are completing their professional semester, and two who are inactive for Fall 2007. We have initiated one distinguished member, Ms. Delia Wallis, and are in close contact with the various alumnae and patroness members in our area.


 Our chapter has a long history of being involved in Mason Hall, the campus music building. We replace old chairs in practice rooms, sponsor various activities involving music students, and perform an American Music Concert every spring. Our familiar fundraiser, "Mason Hall Marathon" has helped raise generous contributions to VH1's Save The Music foundation.
