A leave of absence may be obtained for the following reasons:
- medical (self or family)
- military service
- jury duty
A student must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average and at least a 2.0 average in his/her major.
A leave of absence form can be obtained from the Office of Student Affairs, temporarily located, 2nd Floor Gregory Hall.

The appropriate academic department chairperson and the Office of Student Affairs make final approval of a leave.
Ordinarily, a leave is for one semester or for 180 days. Students wishing to return after a leave of absence must contact the Office of Student Affairs to obtain information on returning at least one month before the beginning of the semester in which they wish to enroll. After completing the Student Affairs process, students wishing to course select should consult the Registrar's office for registration information.
