A Message from the Vice President for Academic Affairs
Thank you for your interest in the Academic Affairs administrative review process at SUNY Fredonia. As the Five-Year Administrative Review document explains, “consistent with the principles of good assessment, the goals are to encourage both the administrator and campus community to reflect on what is working well, to envision the ideal, and to identify issues that may prevent that ideal from becoming reality.”
Each year, several senior academic administrators are selected for review, based on their years of experience in their current roles. This year, three leaders have developed their administrative portfolios for review:
Mr. Randolph Gadikian, Director, Library Services
Dr. Christine Givner, Dean, College of Education
Ms. Karen Klose, Associate Vice President for Information Technology Services
The portfolios, available by clicking on each person’s link to the right, summarize accomplishments and challenges. Faculty and staff will be invited to complete a survey to provide feedback on this portfolio and their own experiences in working with these leaders. External evaluators, who hold positions similar to those of these leaders, will also be invited to review the portfolios and send their comments to the review committee.
I hope that you take time to look at these portfolios and to comment on their accomplishments, challenges, and possible next steps.
Virginia S. Horvath
