Building Toward Student Success: planning

Planning

Provided by Brightspot

Planning is critical to the success of the Building for Student Success initiative. It is an essential aspect of developing an Academic Commons and a Student Success Center that meet the needs of the students and greater campus community.  Before it can begin designing spaces, Fredonia must develop a clearly articulated vision for the project, including a philosophy of service, and a plan that incorporates constituencies across divisions and units in putting student learning and success at the center.  Fredonia would like to begin the pre-design planning as soon as possible.  With support from the Foundation, Fredonia has engaged Brightspot Strategy who has worked with institutions, including the University at Buffalo, University of Rochester, and Portland State University, to help research, vision, plan, and design academic learning commons and student success centers.   Through an intensive engagement process, Brightspot Strategy will assist Fredonia in organizational planning and space design.  Fredonia will also develop extensive professional development to cross-train faculty and staff in the Academic Commons and the Student Success Center.
