The 40,000 square-foot addition to Rockefeller Arts Center, delayed for a year, is back on track. Current plans are to break ground in May 2014 for a two-year construction project that will bring us new dance studios, acting classrooms, a ceramics studio, and space for both wood and metal sculpture. The project also includes renovations to much of the current RAC, such as a new Computer-Aided Design classroom and an expanded scene shop. The construction itself will pose challenges over the next two years, but we will all adapt as we look forward to the new space.
Faculty and students in all areas are engaged in the campus and community, bringing us a wide variety of arts events. Keep an eye on our Arts and Entertainment calendar, and feel free to contact me at any time for more information about the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
