Markus Kessler
Director of Facilities Planning

Markus came to SUNY Fredonia in July 1999 from Wendel Architects and Engineers where he was involved in the design of a number of capital projects at SUNY Fredonia. He began working with Facilities Planning as the Assistant Master Planner to offer design expertise with capital improvements and coordinate project planning for the campus. As Director of Facilities Planning, Markus is responsible for providing direction, assistance, and recommendations on all Capital, residential and renovation projects at all stages of development and construction on the SUNY Fredonia campus. In maintaining the tradition of the I.M. Pei design of the campus, Markus also offers his knowledge and experience in the area of historical preservation. Additionally, he is the designated campus Building Code Compliance Manager. Markus holds a Civil Technology Degree from Erie Community College, a B.P.S. in Architecture from the University of Buffalo, and a Master of Architecture from the University of Buffalo.



Shannon Moore
Assistant Director of Facilities Planning/Contract Administration

Shannon has been a member of the SUNY Fredonia staff since 1990 and has worked with the Facilities Planning Department since Fall 1999. Prior to assuming responsibilities with the Facilities Planning Department, she was responsible for overall office administration for Facilities Management and worked extensively with SUNY Central in developing her knowledge of construction contract administration. Prior experience interpreting rules and regulations was developed through an earlier position in the communications security field which has further aided the knowledge base required for administering contracts at the State level. She is presently responsible for identification of funding, coordination with various state and local entities and the solicitation/bid phase of consultant and construction projects administered at the campus level involving various Capital, residential and renovation projects. She administers and oversees all phases of the contract administration process and provides guidance for the Request for Proposal process administered by Facilities Services. Additionally, she is responsible for overall office management, identification and implementation of programs, efficiency of administrative operations, and web site development. Shannon holds a B.P.S. in Business from SUNY Empire State as well as a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from same.  She is currently pursuing CFCM and CPCM certifications in contracting.


Anthony Siraguso
Facilities Master Planner

Tony assumes consultant responsibilities within the area of Facilities Planning. He has been at SUNY Fredonia since August 1967 where he has served in a number of technical capacities. Prior to accepting the position of Facilities Master Planner, Tony held the position of Director of Physical Facilities, which originally combined responsibility for facilities planning and maintenance functions. As a result of increased campus growth and with more responsibilities being assumed at the campus level for Capital Master Planning, these departments became two separate entities. Tony then assumed the role of Director of Facilities Planning where he offered his expertise in providing direction, assistance, and recommendations on all Capital, residential and renovation projects at all stages of development and construction at SUNY College at Fredonia. In accepting his current position, Tony offers his vast knowledge of and experience with the campus buildings and grounds to ensure campus needs are met in all areas of design and construction.


Paul AglePaul Agle
Capital Projects Manager

Paul has been employed with SUNY Fredonia since 1991.  For 16 years, he was responsible for the operation and maintenance of all refrigeration and HVAC equipment on campus.  He progressively took on a leadership role as he advanced into supervision.  Recognized for his acute mechanical aptitude, problem solving abilities, and capacity to effectively communicate, Paul joined the Facilities Planning team in 2008 in his current title.  Paul is responsible for overseeing the installation of all project-related mechanical systems and offers his expertise on non-project related issues as well.

Prior to his employ at SUNY Fredonia, Paul attended SUNY Alfred majoring in their Air Conditioning Design Program.  He spent the next 13 years as an AC/Refrigeration Foreman for a local company gaining exceptional experience prior to coming to SUNY Fredonia.  In addition, Paul has been an ASHRAE member since 1995 and is an EPA certified refrigerant handler.  He is a welcome addition to this very busy department and is instrumental in coordinating and progressing major projects on the SUNY Fredonia campus. 


Gretchen Schneider
GretchenCapital Project Assistant

Gretchen is a 2008 Summa Cum Laude Graduate of SUNY Fredonia.  She has worked in the Office of Facilities Planning since August 2004; first as a student assistant and then as a professional staff member.   Gretchen provides immeasurable support in contracting activities and completing vendor reviews.  She is also responsible for ensuring OSHA and insurance compliance and certified payroll requirements are met.  She continually provides a high level of professional excellence to all constituents of this department.

  


 Lori JohnsonLori
Project Admin Assistant

Lori began her tenure at the Office of Facilities Planning in September 2005. She began as the Department Secretary and has since advanced providing a focus on contracting activities. Prior to her employ at SUNY Fredonia, Lori spent 17 years working for the Chautauqua County Office of Probation, where she developed a strong base for working in the public sector. While there, she was responsible for maintaining the accounting system, as well as orchestrating a new database for the department, which included training, troubleshooting and problem solving. 

Lori holds an Associates Degree in Administrative Executive Secretarial from Jamestown Business College and is currently pursuing her Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Empire State.


Michelle 
Department Secretary

Michelle joined the Facilities Planning team in September 2008. She is responsible for providing administrative support to all staff and for accounting oversight within this very busy department. Michelle's professional background includes a robust history in office/administrative support.   Prior to her employ at SUNY Fredonia, Michelle worked for various private attorneys beforing gaining employment with the NYS Department of Corrections.  In 1999, she transferred to SUNY Fredonia where she has worked in both the administrative and academic sides of the institution.   With over 30 years of work experience that spans from the private legal sector to the public education environment,  Michelle offers a wealth of knowledge in support of her position.  She expands that knowledge by pursuing various training opportunities to stay abreast of current and upcoming technology advancements in the workplace.


Aleah Student Asst
Student Assistant

Aleah was hired as a Student Assistant with the Facilities Planning Department in January 2008.  A former 3-1-3 student from Fredonia, she is currently a second-year sophomore here at SUNY Fredonia.  Aleah is majoring in Bio Chemistry with graduation expected in 2012.  Upon graduation, she aspires to further her education in pursuit of becoming a Physician's Assistant. 

Aleah provides administrative support as well as assistance in the preparation and distribution of specifications.  Her hard work is a tremendous asset to this busy department; she is a welcome addition to the Facilities Planning team.
