You will begin your day with a performance by SUNY Fredonia's premier acapella ensembles.
11:00am Welcome: King Concert Hall
The 'Welcome' Session provides an overview of the day's events, some highlights of our campus programs and insight from our Director of Admissions, University President and a current student on their experiences at SUNY Fredonia.
Throughout your day, you will meet with many students, faculty members and admissions representatives who can talk candidly with you about Fredonia and their experiences here as a members of our community.
We are excited to present the following speakers at this Open House:
Dr. Virginia Horvath (University President)
Dr. Virginia Horvath became the 13th President of SUNY Fredonia in 2012 after serving as the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Fredonia for seven years.
President Horvath will welcome you to campus, showcase current students and alumni, and help to answer the question, "Are you a Fredonian?"
Christopher Dearth (Director of Admissions)
Chris Dearth has been the Director of Admissions at SUNY Fredonia for five years. He looks forward to welcoming you to campus and providing an overview of some of Fredonia's highlights from the past year.
Chris will outline some admissions information and provide insight into what will again be another competitive year for SUNY Fredonia Admissions.
Kristie Beckinghausen (Current Student)
Kristie Beckinghausen came to SUNY Fredonia after graduating from Clarence High School in 2010. She is a senior English major and is excited to speak with you about many of the things she loves regarding SUNY Fredonia.
Kristie is a student in the SUNY Fredonia Honors Program. She is also the Co-President of Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society as well as a member of Golden Key Honor Society.
12-1:00pm Academic Information Sessions: Depart from King Concert Hall
These information sessions are a chance for those interested in specific academic programs to learn more information about their major of choice from a faculty member in that particular program.
1-2:15pm Student Services Mingle: Steele Hall
Information Sessions and Campus Tours
The Student Services Mingle is designed to allow prospective students the chance to ask questions of the various student service departments on campus such as Residence Life, Fianancial Aid and Athletics & Intramurals.
Student-guided walking tours of campus will include visits to two different style living accommodations (corrdior and suite), Reed Library and University Commons. The last tour will depart Steele Hall at 2:15pm.
Financial Aid Sessions
Williams Center S-204
Families will be escorted to the Financial Aid Session from the Student Services Mingle. A representative from the Office of Financial Aid will explain the financial aid process. For your convenience, an optional walking tour of campus will follow this program.
Bi-Lingual Admissions Session
Williams Center G103-C
This session will provide a general overview of Admissions information and deadlines in Spanish. For your convenience a walking tour of campus will follow this program.
