The SUNY Fredonia Alumni Association has the following scholarships available to students. Children and Grandchildren of Alumni Undergraduate Alumni Council Scholarship To qualify for a Children/Grandchildren of alumni scholarship, you must be a child and/or grandchild of an alum. Applications are accepted beginning in February for both and due by April. Decisions are made in mid-April and scholarship winners are announced shortly thereafter. Please read application details for each award. Please click on this link Children and Grandchildren of Alumni for a copy of the application. PLEASE TYPE AND THEN PRINT OUT. YOU WLL NEED TO MAIL THE COMPLETED PACKET (including typed application and reference letters) TO THE ADDRESS BELOW. The criteria for these $1000 awards are listed here: 1. Grade Point Average – no lower than 3.25 cumulative or 88 2. Completed application – printed off of website. Application will be judged on neatness. 3. Demonstrated service to campus (school) and community 4. Quality of participation in athletics and/or school organizations 5. Enrolled as a full-time student at SUNY Fredonia for the following academic year 6. Submission of two letters of reference (one from someone familiar with your academics and one from someone familiar with your character). Please submit an additional name with contact information (from someone other than a relative). 7. Submission of an official transcript
Scholarships are non-renewable (but you may re-apply if you will be a returning student in the fall). After you have completed the application and collected the two reference letters, please mail the completed packet to: Office of Alumni Affairs 286 Central Ave. Fredonia, N.Y. 14063 (716) 673-3553

In order to recognize those students who have supported the Alumni Association and its Undergraduate Alumni Council through the Activities fee (for at least four semesters) the Alumni Association established the Undergraduate Alumni Awards in 1981.
Because of the continued growth of the Undergraduate Alumni dues, the Alumni Association has been able to increase its commitment to scholarship on an annual basis. This year, ten $1000 awards are being made available to currently enrolled students for the 2009-2010 academic year.
As a student who has supported the Activities fee and has shown an interest in improving the quality of campus life by your involvement, I would like to invite you to apply for one of these awards.

After you have typed and completed the application AND collected the reference letters, please submit the entire packet (you may hand deliver) to the Office of Alumni Affairs, 286 Central Ave., from 9 – 4 , Monday – Friday. In order to be considered for an award, APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN NOON ON FRIDAY, APRIL 3. Please note: If you have trouble printing the application, please contact the Office of Alumni Affairs Alumni.Office@fredonia.edu and someone will assist you. Recipients will be selected by the Alumni Scholarship Committee.
