BOX SCORE: Cortland 69, Blue Devils 63

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- All-American candidate Jessica Laing had 30 points and 12 rebounds to lead top-seeded Cortland over Fredonia State, 69-63, in a SUNYAC quarterfinal game Tuesday.

Grace Moore (Fredonia) had 13 points to lead the Blue Devils, who finished with a 10-15 record. Nicole Calbi (Olean) added 12 points and Liz Wierbinski (Camilus/West Genesee) added 11.

The Blue Devils, the No. 8 seed, held only one lead in the game. Jenna Austin (Cherry Creek/Pine Valley) had back-to-back baskets, the second a three-pointer, to give the Blue Devils a 13-9 advantage with 12:26 left in the first half.

Cortland went on a 9-0 run over the next six minutes and led 29-21 at halftime. The Red Dragons led by as many as 15 points in the second half.

It was the final collegiate game for four Blue Devil seniors: Tiffany Collinsworth (Romulus), Merissa Gaeta (Kirkwood/Windsor), Maya Jordan (Bronx/DeWitt Clinton), and Katie Landy (Southwestern/Jamestown).
