Women's soccer
ROCHESTER, N.Y.-- The Fredonia State women's soccer team scored :43 seconds into the game and never looked back, en route to a 7-0 victory over King's College (Pa.) at the Flower City Invitational hosted by the University of Rochester on Sunday.
Julie LaPolla (Penfield/Penfield) scored her first of three goals in the first minute in a game the Devils would dominate throughout.
Christa Morgante (Selden/Newfield) and LaPolla would each find the net later in the first half as the Devils built a 3-0 lead.
The second half opened with Melissa Cummiskey (Clarence/Clarence) scoring just under two minutes in. Lauren Heilweil (Binghamton/Chenango Forks) found net in the 47th minute to make it 5-nil.
LaPolla and Reilly Condidorio (Leroy/Leroy) rounded out the scoring, with Condidorio's goal, the team's seventh, coming at 69:47.
Condidorio and Cummiskey each had an assist, and Emily Beh (Penfield) had three helpers. Meghan Meszaros (Selden/Newfield) was the winning goaltender, making one save in 78:26. Jennifer Johnson (Goshen/Goshen) finished in goal, also making one save. The Devils outshot King's 26-3.
King's falls to 0-3 on the season.
The Devils, 2-1-0, next play at St. John Fisher on Tuesday.
