FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State baseball team swept D’Youville College, 9-4 and 8-1, at Ludwig Field on Wednesday.
Jordan Hibbard (Waterford, Pa./Ft. LeBouef) tossed a complete-game, four-hitter, striking out eight for his third win of the season.
Offensively, Joe Kephart (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield) and Erik Pokornowski (Batavia) had a pair of hits. Josh Melquist (Jamestown) and Jon Messina (Jamestown) had two RBI each.
Game Two saw Brian Lansing (E. Syracuse/East Syracuse Minoa), Justin Nowak (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) and Zach Murray (Williamsville/Williamsville North) combine to allow one run, walking none and striking out seven. Murray struck out the side to close out the game. Lansing was credited with his third win of the season.
Alex Foster (Wellsville) hit a two-run home run to open the scoring in the second for the Blue Devils. They would score four in the third, and one in the fifth and sixth innings to give the 8-1 final.
Josh Greco (Lockport) had three hits. Dan Fetes (Webster/Webster Thomas) and Mark Majka (Depew/St. Francis) had two apiece.
The Devils improve to 18-9. They play host to Brockport in a noon doubleheader on Saturday.
