FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State senior Rob Herrmann (Trumansburg) recently completed the summer playing for the Carolina Hurricanes of the Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League. Following the season, he was honored by the CVCL as an All Star.

Herrmann played in 24 of the team's 36 games, leading the Hurricanes with a .347 average (25 for 72). In addition, three members of the pitching staff were also named all stars.

Last season, Herrmann was a member of the New York Collegiate Baseball League's Allegany Nitros. Herrmann has been named to the All SUNYAC team in each of his three seasons at Fredonia State. 

Carolina finished the season in third place at 22-14.

Fredonia native and University of Charlston graduate Alex Shaw was also a member of the team, joining them mid-season. Shaw went 3 for 11 at the plate pitched six innings, posting an 8.17 ERA.
