FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State's Jordan Oye (Richmond, B.C.) scored three goals and Brett Mueller (Queensbury) had two goals in a 5-3 SUNYAC home win over the Buffalo State Bengals.

Oye, a junior, scored twice in the second period as the Blue Devils broke open a 1-1 game. He added his third goal, and 13th of the season, into an empty net after the Bengals rallied to within 4-3 late in the third period.

Mueller, a freshman, scored in each of the first two periods, his third and fourth goals of the season. He also added an assist.

Kody Van Rentergem (Leduc, Alberta) made 29 saves and improved to 6-4-0 this season. Buffalo State's Alan Fritch was credited with 37 saves.

The teams traded goals in a span of 14 seconds of the first period, with the Blue Devils' Mueller scoring first. The Blue Devils took command with three unanswered goals in the second period, the last two on power plays in a span of just over two minutes.

Nick Petriello, Drew Klin, and Trevor McKinney scored the Buffalo State, with McKinney's cutting his team's deficit to one goal with 3:13 left. The Bengals eventually pulled Fritch in favor of an extra attacker, only to have Oye complete his hat trick into an empty net with :05 left.

The Blue Devils are back at Steele Hall for a pair of SUNYAC games next weekend -- Friday vs. Geneseo, and Saturday vs. Brockport. Both games are 7 p.m. starts.
