BOSTON, Mass. -- Fredonia State missed on all five power-play chances Friday in a 3-0 loss Friday to Wentworth.
The Blue Devils (4-7-3) outshot their hosts, 35-31, but fell for the second straight day. It was their 12th road game this season, including an exhibition loss to USA Hockey's Under-18 national team.
Wentworth (7-4-0) scored one goal in each period -- at 8:37 of the first by Skylur Jameson, 13:34 of the second by Michael O'Brien, and 18:42 of the third by Mike Paglino. Paglino's goal was Wentworth's lone power-play goal in four chances.
Justin Marriott stopped all 35 Blue Devil shots to earn the shutout. Fredonia State freshman Kody VanRentergem (Leduc, Alberta) made 28 saves.
The Blue Devils play their next five games at the Steele Hall Ice Arena starting with a rematch against the Under-18 team 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Steele Hall box office opens at 6 p.m.
