POTSDAM, N.Y. -- The Devils won a slugfest, 10-6, at Potsdam on Friday in men’s SUNYAC hockey action.
The Bears dominated the early play, taking a 5-2 lead, including a pair of power play scores, after the first period. From there, the Devils would crank up the offense.
The Devils scored four unanswered goals in the second period to take a 6-5 lead. They scored twice on power plays.
After a Potsdam goal at 6:09 into the third period tied the game at 6-all, the Devils ran off four more unanswered goals in the final 10:31. They added two more power plays and a short-handed score to give the 10-6 final.
Eight different Devils scored. Mitch Kulikoski and Bryan Ross each scored twice. Ross was responsible for the short-handed score.
Three different goaltenders saw action for the Devils. Pat Street started, and gave up three goals. Kody VanRentergem gave up two in just over 50 minutes of action and earned the win, while Kyle Yelich gave up one score in brief action.
The Devils improve to 16-5-2 overall, and 8-4-2 in SUNYAC play. They travel to Plattsburgh Saturday evening.
