The Blue Devils celebrate their first goal Saturday during their Pink the Rink game vs. Morrisville State at the Steele Hall Ice Arena.FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State celebrated Pink the Rink night Saturday with a 7-1 SUNYAC victory over the Morrisville State Mustangs.

The Blue Devils broke a 1-1 tie with three goals in the second period to the delight of a capacity crowd at the Steele Hall Ice Arena.

Jordan Oye (Richmond, B.C.) led the Blue Devil offense, ranked fourth nationally in points per game, with a goal and four assists, while Mat Hehr (Sherwood Park, Alberta) had two power-play goals.

The Blue Devils outshot the Mustangs, 53-29.

Morrisville State's Chris Cerbino opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 6:46 of the first period. James Muscatello (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) scored the equalizer, his 14th of the season, at 17:26.

Muscatello's was the first of seven unanswered goals by the Blue Devils, including the eventual game-winner by Mitch Kulikoski (Calgary, Alberta) at 9:33 of the second period. It was his fifth of the year. Jeff Aonso (Toronto, Ont.) netted his fifth goal at 10:16 before Bryan Ross (Livonia, Mich.) connected for his team-leading 18th goal at 12:14.

Members of the Fredonia State men's basketball team surround Averl Otis, a member of the Fredonia State professional staff in whose honored the team purchased a Pink the Rink jersey.The two-power play goals by Hehr, his 14th and 15th of the season, and a goal by Oye, his 16th, completed the scoring.

Fredonia State goaltender Kody Van Rentergem (Leduc, Alberta) stopped 28 shots while Morrisville State's starting goaltender Caylin Relkoff made 39 saves.

The same two teams will meet Tuesday at Steele Hall in the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament. The Blue Devils enter the six-team tournament as the No. 3 seed while the Mustangs will make their first SUNYAC postseason appearance as the No. 6 seed.

Proceeds of the night, including the sale of 31 pink Blue Devil sweaters, netted over $8,000 to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.
