ROCHESTER, N.Y. --  Fredonia State was unable to overcome a slow start Tuesday as they dropped a 12-6 non-conference match to Rochester Institute of Technology.

Amy Simon and Morgan McNamara accounted for all the Blue Devil goals - three each - while goalkeeper Nicole Faulise made 12 saves. McNamara also added an assist.

The Blue Devils (7-4) trailed 5-1 at halftime. The Tigers (10-3) maintained at least a four-goal game the rest of the way.

Fredonia State returns to SUNYAC competition for its next game, a trip to Potsdam on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Devils are also at home noon Sunday vs. Morrisville State.
