Men's basketball

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team picked up a key road win Saturday evening with a 70-62 win at Plattsburgh.

The Devils scored first, and would not relinquish the lead and dominating most of the way. The Blue and White opened up its biggest lead, 23 points, on a Bryan Morse (Beacon) layup to end the first half as the Devils headed into the locker room with a 38-15 advantage.

 

Morse led the Devils with 18 points. Julius Bryant (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) added 10. Kevin Saunders (Batavia) had nine points, and team highs with nine rebounds and five assists.

 

Plattsburgh was led by Errol Daniyan with 22 points. Plattsburgh falls to 5-13 overall, and 3-7 in SUNYAC play.

 

Fredonia State improves to 12-6, 6-5. With a win in Steele Hall earlier this season, they swept the season series from the two-time defending conference champion Cardinals.
