FREDONIA, N.Y.  -- Fredonia State rallied in the second half for a 66-59 SUNYAC home win over Plattsburgh.

A three-point basket by Wayne Davis (Binghamton) with 3:29 left put the Blue Devils (8-2, 2-1 SUNYAC) into the lead for good, 60-57, an advantage they pushed out to 62-57 on a pair of free throws by Davis.

Julius Bryant (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) led Fredonia State with 19 points while Brad Cooper (Monticello) had 10 points and Bryan Morse (Beacon) came off the bench for eight points and 10 rebounds.

Plattsburgh's Chris Ruiz (Bronx/St. Agnes) had 25 points in the first half but struggled most of the second half. He finished with a game-high 29 points. Errol Daniyan (Coram/Longwood) added 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Down 41-32 at intermission, the Blue Devils turned up their defense by limiting the Cardinals (3-8, 1-2 SUNYAC) to 18 points in the second half. Plattsburgh shot 27 percent in the second half (6 of 22), compared to 58 percent in the first half. The Cardinals also were guilty of 20 turnovers.

The advantage went back-and-forth most of the second half -- there were six ties and five lead changes -- before the Blue Devils took command in the final four minutes.

The Blue Devils return to SUNYAC action Saturday afternoon vs. Potsdam. Game time is 4 p.m. at Steele Hall.
