BOX SCORE: Cortland 56, FSU 50

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Cortland Dragons ended the Devils hopes of securing a home playoff game, downing them 56-50 on Saturday evening. The Devils finish the season sixth in the conference and will end up facing the No. 3 seed -- the Cortland Red Dragons -- again on Tuesday in Round 1 of the SUNYAC Tournament.

Cortland built a lead by as many as 12 points in the first half, and settled in to a 30-21 advantage at the break.

The Devils had their customary strong second half, outscoring Cortland 29-26 in the second frame, but it would not be enough. They pulled within four, 52-48, with :47 seconds left after Amir Billups (Buffalo/Starpoint) nailed a three pointer.

The Devils the fouled Cortland on consecutive possessions, and Brian Manning and Dustin Marshall combined to make all four free throws and give Cortland a 56-48 lead to seal the game.

Julius Bryant's (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) dunk in the final seconds accounted for the final score.

Cortland (15-10 overall, 11-7 SUNYAC) was led by Manning's 19 points. Jesse Winter added 12, and Marshall finished with 10.

The Devils (11-13, 9-9) were led by Joseph Monahan (Floral Park/Holy Cross) with 10 points and four assists. Bryant led all rebounders with 11.

This was the final home game for six seniors: James Kane (Buffalo/Bishop Timon), Greg MacBride (Clifton Springs/Newark), Kyle Mitchell (Lake Luzerne/Hadley Luzerne), Kevin Saunders (Batavia), Scott Valenta (Binghamton) and Brad Cooper (Monticello).
