BOX SCORE: CORTLAND 70, FSU 60

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball season came to an end Tuesday night, as they fell victim to Cortland State, 70-60, in the first round of the SUNYAC playoffs.

Cortland led the entire second half. The closest the Devils would come would be four points, 51-47, with 6:48 left to play following a jumper by Juluis Bryant (Buffalo/Hutch Tech).

The Blue Devils overcame a slow start in the first half, which saw them trail by as many as 12 points, before rallying. A 12-2 run included a three-point basket by Amir Billups (Buffalo/Starpoint), and six points -- two baskets and two free throws -- by Bryant.

A jumper by Kyle Mitchell (Lake Luzerne/Hadley Luzerne) capped the run and cut the Cortland lead to 21-19 with 2:27 left in the half. The Red Dragons pushed back out to a 27-21 lead before Mitchell closed out the first half with a tip-in at the halftime buzzer.

Cortland (16-10) was led by Dustin Marshall's 25 points. Jesse Winter added 17. They will face Oneonta in the semifinal round on Friday. Oneonta defeated Oswego, 77-69.

Bryant led the Devils with 18 points and eight rebounds. Billups had 12 points, and Mitchell finished with 10. The Devils complete the season at 11-14.
