(BOX SCORE: Plattsburgh 1, Fredonia State 0)

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Plattsburgh broke a scoreless tie in the 66th minute for a 1-0 SUNYAC victory over Fredonia State at University Stadium.

Danny Faiella (Holbrook) won a 50-50 ball in the midfield and chipped a shot from the top of the 18-yard line past drawn out Fredonia State goalkeeper Andrew Feldmann (Silver Creek). C.J. Taylor (Liverpool, England) was credited with an assist.

The Blue Devils (7-7-0, 1-6-0 SUNYAC) missed a chance to tie the score when a free kick by Ryan O'Donnell (Orchard Park) from just outside the box sailed just outside the upper right corner of the Plattsburgh net.

For the Cardinals (12-3-1, 5-2-1 SUNYAC), senior goalkeeper John San Filippo (Levittown) was credited with four saves and the shutout. Feldmann stopped six shots.

The Blue Devils are back at home 2 p.m. Saturday vs. Potsdam for the annual homecoming game. Former players will be introduced at halftime as part of the 50 Years of Men's Soccer celebration.
