(BOX SCORE: Fredonia State 1, Buffalo State 0 -- OT)

FREDONIA, N.Y. --  After playing to a scoreless tie in regulation, the Fredonia State men's soccer team scored 3:25 into the first overtime to defeat Buffalo State, 1-0.

Ryan O'Donnell (Orchard Park) broke away from the pack down the left side and made a precise cross to Peter Dagel (Rochester/Gates Chili) who found a wide-open net. It was Dagel's team-leading 11th goal of the season, and O'Donnell's team-best sixth assist.

In an evenly played game that saw plenty of back-and-forth action, the Bengals out shot the Devils 16-14, while Fredonia State held a 7-6 advantage in corner kicks. The Devils' Andrew Feldman (Silver Creek) made eight saves, while Dan Corti of Buffalo State made seven.

The first half saw near misses from both teams. Buffalo State's Aaron Gollegly had a clear shot from 30 yards out that rocketed off the top post in the 27th minute. Fredonia State's Dagel had a near miss in the 31st minute, with a crossing shot from the left side, as Conti was just able to deflect the shot enough to hit the right post.

Feldman had several clutch saves in the second half. He made a game-saving stop in the 77th minute as the Bengal's AJ Johnson attempted a cross from the left side. Feldman would make a one-handed, diving stop to preserve the shutout.

Fredonia State improves to 9-7-0 overall, and 3-6-0 in the SUNYAC. Buffalo State falls to 10-7-0 and 4-5-0.

The Devils' final conference game is Saturday vs. Brockport. Gametime is set for 7 p.m at University Stadium.
