FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State men’s head soccer coach P.J. Gondek has been appointed to the NCAA Division III men’s soccer committee for the next four
years.
As a committee member, Gondek will have a hand in the selection and seeding of teams chosen for the annual men’s NCAA Division III soccer tournament. He will also be in charge of the New York Regional Advisory committee. He was a member of the committee from 2004 through 2006.
In addition to his coaching duties, Gondek will also moderate the weekly regional ranking meetings, represent the region on the national ranking calls, work with officials groups assigned to regional games played in Western New York, and appoint representatives to assist at all NCAA Division III men’s tournament venues in the region. He will also attend the NCAA Division III national semifinal and championship games, and the NCAA Division III annual men’s soccer meeting in Indianapolis.
Gondek has coached the Blue Devils for the past 10 seasons. His 2005 and 2007 teams qualified for the NCAA tournament. In addition, he has served as a site representative three times, including in 2008 at the Rochester Regional.
His four-year appointment begins this September and ends prior to the start of the 2014 season.
