ALFRED, N.Y. -- Fredonia State sophomore Peter Dagel scored with 1:43 left in the second overtime to down Alfred University, 2-1.

Ryan O'Donnell and Eli Lubberts assisted on Dagel's goal, his fifth of the season and third game-winner. The Blue Devils improved to 5-1, while the Saxons fell to 0-7.

After a scoreless first half, Eric Lavelle put Alfred in front, 1-0, with an unassisted goal in the 57th minute. The Blue Devils countered in the 74th minute as O'Donnell scored his third goal of the season. Lubberts picked up the lone assist.

While the Blue Devils had a 22-8 advantage in shots, Alfred goalkeeper Elliot Thorpe responded with 10 saves. Fredonia State's Tom Cavanaugh made only two saves.

Fredonia State's next game, 1 p.m. Saturday at Geneseo, is its first against a SUNYAC opponent. The Blue Devils are the defending SUNYAC champs.
