GENESEO, N.Y. -- Fredonia State opened the SUNYAC portion of its schedule with a 4-1 road loss to Geneseo.

The Blue Devils (5-2-0, 0-1-0 SUNYAC) never led in the match and were outshot 23-13.

Geneseo's Ian Mort had a hand in all four of his team's goals. He assisted on Colin Begy's goal in the 36th minute. Mort then made it 2-0 with an unassisted goal in the 39th minute, and added his second and third goals of the game in the second half.

Peter Dagel (Rochester/Gates-Chili) scored the lone goal for the Blue Devils on a penalty kick in the 42nd minute. It was Dagel's team-leading sixth goal of the season.

The Blue Devils, the defending SUNYAC champs, return to conference play with a pair of road games next weekend -- Friday at New Paltz, Saturday at Oneonta.
