Men's soccer

Lancaster, Pa. -- The Fredonia State men’s soccer team opened its season with a 2-0 loss at Franklin and Marshall on Friday night.

F & M’s Rob Hassler scored the game’s first goal at 28:94 of the first half. Hassler headed the ball to the corner of the net to account for the goal. Giuseppe Bua assisted.

Ben Beaver scored the Diplomats’ second goal with just under two minutes remaining in the game to account for the final score.

Bobby McGinnis (Elmira/Elmira Free Academy) made five saves in goal for the Devils. The Devils had 12 shots, with six shots on goal. The Diplomats also had 12 shots, with seven shots on goal. Zack Zamek was the shutout goaltender.

Next up for the Devils is defending National Champion and No.1 ranked Messiah on Saturday evening.
