FREDONIA, N.Y. -- SUNYAC Tournament Most Valuable Player Leanne Maloney (West Seneca/Mount Mercy) is also the SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week, the fourth different Blue Devil to receive the award this fall.

Maloney, a senior outside hitter, had 18 kills and 20 digs in the two SUNYAC Tournament matches won by the Blue Devils. The team captured its first SUNYAC championship in the sport and earned its first trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

The Blue Devils will meet Haverford College 1 p.m. Thursday at Union College in Schenectady.

Senior setter Alyssa Torpy (West Henrietta/Rush-Henrietta), freshman middle blocker Chelsea Senn (Hamburg/Frontier), and sophomore middle blocker Kaitlin Erdmann (Randolph) are the Blue Devils to previously receive the weekly women's volleyball player of the week award.

In men's hockey, freshman goaltender Kody Van Rentergem (Leduc, Alberta) is the SUNYAC Goaltender of the Week after a 36-save shutout performance Nov. 8 vs. Cortland, a 2-0 Blue Devil victory. He lowered his goals-against average to 0.50 and raised his save percentage to 98.3 percent.

Van Rentergem was the SUNYAC Rookie of the Week on Oct. 27.
