FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State baseball team received its first-ever New York State Regional ranking when the NCAA Division III Baseball Committee released its first 2009 regional poll on Wednesday, April 22. The committee ranks the top 15 percent of eligible teams in each region. Records through April 21, were included in this week’s regional poll.
The New York State rankings were as follows with overall record, followed by regional record:
1. RPI - 24-8 (22-7)
2. Cortland State - 22-10 (17-6)
3. Ithaca - 22-6 (16-3)
4. SUNY-Old Westbury - 19-10 (17-7)
5. Fredonia State - 20-6 (13-6)
6. Rochester - 24-10 (21-10)
The next poll will be released April 30.
