FREDONIA, N.Y.-- Senior Jordan Basile (Jamestown) and sophomore Josh Greco (Lockport) became the first Blue Devil teammates to be honored by the SUNYAC, ABCA and now the ECAC following their season. Both were named to the twelve-man ECAC Upstate New York All Star squad, after making the SUNYAC all conference team and being named to the ABCA Regional team.

Basile, the team's leadoff hitter and centerfielder, had a record-setting career for the Devils. This year's SUNYAC batting champ set team season records for hits (63), runs (47) and stolen bases (20) to go along with his conference-best .420 batting average. The Devils leadoff hitter was responsible for jump starting a potent offense that set nearly every school offensive mark.

Greco, a secondbaseman and the Devils' No. 2 hitter, was also honored. In his second season, he led the Devils with 34 RBI, 14 doubles -- a school record -- and two home runs. He was second to Basile in runs (33) and hits (56), both numbers ranking second on the Devils' all time list. He also had 11 stolen bases and only six errors and a .965 fielding percentage.

"Both Josh and Jordan are scrappy players with no quit in them," said head coach Matt Palisin. "They play the game hard and the right way and are great examples for the other players on our team. They get the most out of their ability and were consistent all season long. They have represented our team well and I couldn't be more proud of them."

The 1-2 punch help lead the Devils to season marks for batting average (.343), hits (444), doubles (76), runs (290), stolen bases (110) and RBI (263).

Basile ends his career among the all time leaders in several categories: first in hits (158) and runs (106), third in batting average (.377), and fifth in doubles (25).

Greco will return to the Devils in 2010, looking to help the team improve upon its record-setting 2009 season where the Devils went 26-12, were the No.1 seed and host in the ECAC Regional Tournament and runners up in the SUNYAC regular season.
