FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Four Blue Devils were chosen to the 2009 All-SUNYAC baseball team.

Senior centerfielder Jordan Basile (Jamestown) and senior pitcher Ricky Carlson (Frewsburg) were First Team choices. A pair of juniors, second baseman Josh Greco (Lockport) and catcher Rob Herrmann (Trumansburg), made the Second Team.

Basile, also a First Team choice in 2008, batted a team-high .417 for the Blue Devils, with a school-record 58 hits and a team-high 17 stolen bases. He also had 75 chances defensively without an error. He led SUNYAC with 20 hits and 16 runs scored and carried a .357 batting average in conference games. His four-year hit total of 153 is a new school record.

Carlson, a left-hander, had his best of three seasons at Fredonia State. He was 4-0 with a 2.51 earned run average in SUNYAC regular-season games, and 6-1 with a 2.71 ERA overall. In the two seasons prior to 2009, Carlson was 3-6 overall with a 4.76 ERA.

Greco had a breakout season in 2009. Cut twice as a collegian (once at another college and once at Fredonia State), he made the roster in 2008 and batted .242 in only 33 at-bats. This year as a starter, Greco batted .394 with 11 stolen bases. He led the team in doubles (13), RBIs (31) and slugging percentage (.535).

Herrmann made the All-SUNYAC team for the third straight season. He hit .340 with 29 RBIs and had no errors in 104 chances as the Blue Devils' No. 1 catcher. His batting average in SUNYAC games was .361.
