FREDONIA, N.Y. --  Fredonia State dropped both ends of its SUNYAC doubleheader Tuesday at the College at Brockport. The Blue Devils fell to 10-5-1 overall and 2-2 in the conference.

The Golden Eagles (14-3-1, 5-1 SUNYAC) rode the six-hit pitching of Natalie Geer for a 4-0 victory in the first game. In the second game, the Golden Eagles rapped 11 hits and took advantage of four Fredonia State errors for a 13-3 victory.

Freshman right-hander Jennifer Tighe (Hamburg/Frontier) took the loss in Game 1. He pitched a complete-game six-hitter and yielded three earned runs. Offensively, the Blue Devils managed six hits off Geer, who struck out eight and did not allow a walk. All six Fredonia State hits were singles, including one by freshman Courtney Wight (Bolivar/Bolivar-Richburg), which extended her hitting streak to eight games.

Lindsay Trugman had two hits and two RBI for the Golden Eagles.

A three-run homer by Kim Gabor capped Brockport's four-run first inning in the second game and the Golden Eagles never looked back. Kelly Briscoe pitched all five innings - the game was stopped by the mercy rule - and yielded eight hits, including two hits each by freshman Brittany Lis (Lancaster) and Katie Turvey (Lockport/Depew). One of Lis's hits was a double while freshman Lauren Larson (Lakewood/Panama) had an RBI double.

Junior right-hander Rebecca Zimmerman (Jamestown) was the losing pitcher.

The Blue Devils continue their SUNYAC road trip this Friday and Saturday with doubleheaders at New Paltz and Oneonta, respectively.
