OSWEGO, N.Y.-- Fredonia State broke out the bats Friday while sweeping Oswego, 8-1 and 9-0, in a SUNYAC doubleheader Friday.

The Blue Devils (12-7-1, 4-4 SUNYAC) rapped nine hits in the first game, including a two-run homer by Michelle Lattner and a double and single by Amy Coniglio. Lattner finished with three RBI and Brittany Lis had two.

Jennifer Tighe allowed one hit and struck out seven over six innings to improve to 4-3.

The Blue Devils picked off where they left off in the second game. The first eight batters reached base safely, seven on hits, including a two-run double by Lattner, RBI singles by Rebecca Zimmerman and Maria Siderakis, and an RBI double by Rachel Burrows.

Zimmerman, Siderakis, Katie Turvey, and Burrows had two hits each. Burrows finished with a second double and two RBI.

Lattner was the winning pitcher, her fourth victory of the season against no losses.

The Blue Devils are back on the road Saturday at Cortland. The SUNYAC doubleheader starts at 1 p.m.
