BRADFORD, Pa. -- The lack of a timely hit negated solid pitching as Fredonia State dropped a non-conference doubleheader Thursday to the Pitt-Bradford Panthers.

In the opener, the trio of Jennifer Tighe, Allison Ghyzel, and Michelle Lattner combined for on a five-hitter. In the second game, Rebecca Zimmerman and Ashley LaPorta yielded four hits.
Katie Turvey had two hits in the first game. The lone run scored on a two-out single by Maria Siderakis in the fourth inning which cut the UPB lead to 2-1. The Blue Devils had only one more baserunner over the last three innings.
Lattner had three hits in the nightcap. After her third hit, Latttner scored from second on a two-out single to center by Zimmerman for the tying run. She also had an RBI double to score Brittany Lis, who had singled, in the third inning. UPB won the game with an unearned run in the last of the ninth off LaPorta, who had the longest outing of the day by a Blue Devil (5 1/3 innings).
