ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women were 166-134 winners while the men fell 178-120 Saturday afternoon to Rochester Institute of Technology.
Morgan Reisch (Fairport), Stephanie Andresek (Parma, Ohio/Normandy) and Juliana Walker (Frewsburg) were double winners for the Blue Devil women. Reisch was victorious in the 100-yard backstroke with 1:03.91, and the 200-yard backstroke in 2:20.45. Andresek touched first in the 100-yard breast stroke in 1:12.07, and the 200-yard breast stroke in 2:41.13. Walker was first in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:03.42, and the 50-yard freestyle in :25.77
Also, Penny Robin (Dansville) won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:43.76. Sarah Ficarro (Owego) won 1-meter diving with 229.05 points. Heather Robin (Dansville) was second. The pair switched places in the 3-meter event with Robin totalling 237.45 points. Bethany Jones (Churchville/Churchville-Chili) was second in both events.
Also victorious for the women was the 200-yard medley relay of Emily Ginty (Chenango Forks), Andrasek, Walker, and Renée Solly (Lockport) .
On the men's side, Christian Torres (Dunkirk) won 3-meter diving with an NCAA provisional qualifying score of 291.00 points. Also, Derek Greiner (Angola/Lake Shore) won the 100-yard backstroke in :59.09. Mike Seay (Grand Island) was first in the 100-yard breast stroke in 1:02.07. Zac Parker (Rochester/Brighton) touched first in the 100-yard freestyle in :50.88 seconds.
The Blue Devil men won the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:27.10 with the quartet of Parker, Mike Hughson (Albion), Mike Mitchell (Medina, Ohio), and Seay.
The Blue Devils return home for their next six meets, starting next Saturday at 1 p.m. vs. Geneseo.
