MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Allegheny College defeated the Blue Devils on both the men's and women's sides on Saturday afternoon. The men fell 127-116, while the women fell 147-94. However, the Blue Devil divers for both the men and women finished 1-2-3 in both the 1-meter board and the 3-meter board.
On the 1-meter board for the women, Kelly Sponholz (271.35), Heather Robin (203.10), and Leanne Kies (169.80) were the top three. The same trio finished in the same order off the 3-meter board: Sponholz (262.95), Robin (203.62), and Kies (169.65).
The 1-meter men were Christian Torres (253.43), Shane Ammering (228.83), and John Rodman (174.60). The same order applied to the 3-meter board: Torres (269.70), Ammering (212.10), and Rodman (189.75).
The lone individual winners for the Devils were Mike Seay, who touched first in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:52.16, and Mike Hughson, winning the 400 IM in 4:37.91.
The Devils claimed team victories in the women's and men's 400 freestyle relays. Caitlyn Fields, Renee Solly, Monica Dunlevy and Julian Walker finished in 3:49.25. Evan Prewitt, Derek Greiner, Matt Beebe and Brent Davis finished in 3:25.69.
The Devils return to Steel Hall for the seven-team Blue Devil Invitational on Dec. 5-6-7.
