GENESEO, N.Y. -- Fredonia State divers Kelly Sponholz (Alden) and Christian Torres (Dunkirk) swept the diving competition Saturday during the Blue Devils' duel meet against the Geneseo Blue Knights.
Sponholz, a senior, set pool records off both boards -- 279.20 points in the 1-meter, 295.15 in the 3-meter. The 1-meter score was also a school record.
Torres, a junior, recorded NCAA provisional qualifying scores off both boards -- 280.9 in the 1-meter and 288.95 in the 3-meter.
Emily Dizer (Tonawanda/Sweet Home), a senior, won the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke races, while the Fredonia State women's 400-yard freestyle quartet of sophomore Caitlyn Fields (Buffalo/Sacred Heart), junior Monica Dunlevy (Batavia), freshman Juliana Walker (Frewsburg), and sophomore Morgan Reisch (Fairport) won their race in a close touch.
Geneseo won the team competition, 155-133 on the men's side and 154½-138½ on the women's side.
