BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Juliana Walker (Frewsburg) clamied the women's 100-yard butterfly SUNYAC title on Friday evening, turning in a time of 58.67 seconds. In addition, she made the B-cut for nationals.

The 800-free relay squad of Walker, Morgan Reisch (Fairport), Emily Ginty (Chenango Forks) and Penny Robin (Dansville) finished third while setting a school record of 8:03.71.

In addition to their relays, Reisch and Andrasek also turned in sixth place individual finishes. Reisch was sixth in the 100-yard back stroke (1:02.19), and Stephanie Andrasek (Parma, Ohio/Normandy) in the 100-yard breast stroke. Her time of 1:08.63 was a new Blue Devil record.

The men finished fourth in the 200-yard medley relay. Derek Greiner (Angola/Lake Shore), Mike Mitchell (Medina, Ohio), Mike Seay (Grand Island) and Rob Sweeny (Fredonia) set a school record of 1:37.15.

The 800-free relay team of Mitchell, Zac Parker (Rochester/Brighton), Seay and Mike Hughson (Albion) finished fifth in a time of 7:11.58.

Individually for the men, Seay turned in a seventh-place finish in the breast stroke, in 1:01.01.

Both the men’s and women’s teams are in fourth place. Head coach Arthur Wang feels good about the teams chances to move up. “With the diving coming up tomorrow, I feel like we can make up some points.” The women trailed third-place New Paltz by only 14 points. Both the men and women’s diving teams have had traditionally strong SUNYAC meets.
