KENYON, Ohio -- Fredonia State senior Al Palmquist (Olean) set a new SUNYAC record in the 100-yard backstroke while competing Saturday at the Kenyon Invitational.
Palmquist was timed in 52.11 seconds, which also is an NCAA B-Cut provisional qualifying time. He is the first Blue Devil swimmer to reach a national qualifying standard under head coach Arthur Wang, whose in his sixth season at Fredonia State.
Fredonia State has had three divers reach NCAA qualifying standards under Wang.
Palmquist was also scheduled to swim the 200-yard backstroke at Kenyon later Saturday. Check back for more details.
