Women's tennis

MANLIUS, N.Y. --  Fredonia State senior Sierra Summerville (Mexico) accounted for her team's only points at the 2008 SUNYAC Women's Tennis championships at the East Side Racquet Club.

Summerville defeated Oneonta's Liz Flamman 6-2, 7-5 in a No. 4 singles quarterfinal match Saturday. Summerville lost her semifinal match.

In addition to Summerville, Blue Devil head coach Joe Calarco sent out sophomore Anna Norris (Binghamton/Susquehanna Valley) at No. 1 singles, sophomore Calee Prindle (Geneva) at No. 2, senior Elise Daigler (North Tonawanda) at No. 3, junior Mallory Long (Canandaigua) at No. 5, and junior Megan Zarzycki (Rochester/Irondequoit) at No. 6.

The Blue Devils dropped all three of their doubles matches - Norris and Prindle 6-3, 6-0 in a No. 1 match; Daigler and Summerville 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2; and Long and Zarzycki 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3.
