FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The final home match for the the 2009 Fredonia State tennis team was a successful one, as the Devils downed Pitt-Bradford, 7-2. It was the team's third straight victory as they improved to 4-6 overall.

The Devils took all three doubles matches, each by identical 8-2 scores. The No. 1 doubles team was made up of Anna Norris and Mallory Long, No. 2 doubles was Calee Prindle and Megan Zarzycki, and the No. 3 doubles consisted of Katrina Johnston and Chelsea Mang.

Bradford had their success with the No. 1 and No. 2 singles. No. 1 Renee Total defeated Norris in a close match (2-6, 6-3, 6-4), and Sarah Fowkes defeated Long in straight sets (6-2, 6-2).

The Devils swept the final four singles slots, winning every set along the way.

Prindle took the No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-0. No. 4 Zarzycki won 6-1, 6-1. Katrina Johsnton and Mang each cruised to 6-0, 6-1 victories at the Nos. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.

The netters next match will be at Case Western on Oct. 6.
